Description
The cozy villages of Midsomer County reveal their most sinister secrets in these four contemporary British television mysteries. Dance with the dead: A young man's apparent suicide leads Barnaby and his team searching for the man's missing girlfriend and ballroom dance partner. Animal within: When a woman presumed dead in a plane crash visits her uncle's estate three years later, she surprises everyone there, but it's an even greater shock when the uncle is murdered without a clear heir. King's crystal: Barnaby investigates a bitter feud at the heart of a family-owned glassworks involving the death of the family accountant. Axeman cometh: An aging band making a comeback tour stops for a concert in Midsomer, but someone's out to murder the band members one by one.
Description
Dance with the Dead: In a World War Two Humber, a body of a young man is found full of exhaust fumes. The victim, Simon Bright was hit on the head before he died, and he was not alone, so he was probably murdered. Newcomer Laura Sharp, his girlfriend, is missing. Morton Fendle, where this takes place is still in the shadow of World War Two.
Description
The Animal Within: A retired society photographer, Rex Masters, is found dead. Three of his friends, as well as a niece everyone thought was dead, all produce wills claiming his fortune.
Description
King's Crystal: King's Crystal, a family glassware business in Midsomer Magna, appears to suffer financial meltdown after the death in Shanghai of Alan King, one of its partners. Six months later, his widow Hilary marries his brother Charles, who is now running the company. The firm's accounts executive, Peter Baxter, is found murdered after a break-in at the now-closed factory. The now-redundant staff, led by Jack Tewson, are agitating for compensation for their stolen pensions. Alan's son Ian becomes increasingly moody, sullen and resentful, particularly to his mother Hilary and would-be girlfriend Sophie Baxter, daughter of the accounts executive. Barnaby asks Jones to use his Masonic connection to help the investigation to untangle the firm's financial irregularities. Barnaby is inspired by a performance of Hamlet in which Cully plays Ophelia, to see its parallels with the case.
Description
The Axeman Cometh: A Blues festival attracts "Hired Gun", a band Barnaby used to follow. Members of the band start dropping dead.
